Watch Project Runway Season 6 Episode 3
They have the right of this episode of Project Runway: Rumble on the track. I guess that gives you a bit of an idea of what might happen in this episode weeks. The big question is who and who will go this week? Last week, the 16 competitors were only 3 days to design a dress for a celebrity speaker, however, after checking up on day 2, appeared to have done nothing, zero, Zilpah, zich, nothing. Of course, this was a big "bye bye" at least one competitor. I can only help tought 15 that has gained a little lesson.
Now I am in general, not a fan of fashion shows or reality TV in this area. But when you combine the two, together, get something that can not be simply dismissed as "rubbish". The first matter emissions in 2004 and after a year and a half after the end of the fifth season of the sixth season has come to our screens. The former employer and Model was famous judge Heidi Klum. According to sources "Chick Ginger" Lindsay Lohan has joined the panel of judges for the season this year.

Project A $16.98 Tenor saxophonist Joel Frahm and keyboardist Bruce Katz pay instrumental tribute to the rhythm & blues tunes of pop icon Aretha Franklin in a manner that is removed from stock arrangements or rote interpretations. Frahm and Katz tend to change things up a bit on the majority of these well-chosen selections, which bear only a minimal resemblance to the powerful songs of Sister ‘Re. That Frahm’s modernistic personal style is sublimated, or that Katz doesn’t groove hard and strong, is not the issue. What is at hand makes this group stand alone as a unit dedicated to this music of their youth, leaving karaoke or copycat charts to much less-talented musicians, as they bring a different heartfelt aesthetic to these proceedings. Electric guitarist Chris Vitarello is a major factor adding new voicings, while Franklin’s electric bass guitarist Jerry Jemmott makes his funky presence felt on five of these selections. The always exemplary and talented Katz rotates on piano, Hammond B-3, and Wurlitzer, while a two-man horn section is added on three tracks. Of the obvious modifications, “Maybe I’m A Fool” is a sprightly waltz with Katz on piano in more an N.Y.C. street style, while the famous “Rock Steady” is much lighter on its feet than the original, and does not necessarily “get down” with dual bass, drums, and electric pianos. Completely off the charts, Vitarello’s slide guitar à la Duane Allman or Derek Trucks moves in secular-to-New Orleans-shuffle modes during “What a Friend We Have in Jesus.” Frahm’s influences cum King Curtis via Michael Brecker clearly come to the surface on the choogling shuffle “Love the One You’re With,” but the churchy organ of Katz spurs a light or loping funk and some clockwork rhythms for “Spirit in the Dark” where the tenor saxophonist adopts a spiritual stance akin to John Coltrane. A very slow, urban blues accented by Vitarello and the horns identifies “It Ain’t Fair,” similar to the Art Blakey/Bobby Timmons evergreen “Moanin’,” while back to New Orleans, the upbeat, funky pace of “Packing Up, Getting Ready to Go” might have been a better first number than the last selection. Unfortunately, the opener “The House That Jack Built” is the one track that really falls flat, a clearly simplified cover that belies the creative nature of these musicians. Overall this recording expresses a good time had by all, clearly a labor of love, and brings Franklin’s Detroit gospel to star power rhythm & blues music forward in a different light. While not likely to shake and quake booties or turn dance music into an intellectual thesis, Frahm and Katz achieve a balance somewhere in the middle that should be pleasing to many younger jazz and older non-jazz fans. ~ Michael G. Blue Lights on the Runway $15.99 Established fans of this scrappy Irish quartet may be startled by the band’s slight turn toward electronica on its fourth studio album, but there’s no need to fear: the focus is still on bittersweet melody and whimsical lyrics. Lines like “Bring your canary, bring your flame” and “I’d say life’s a different story when you’re facing certain death” and entire songs like the snotty, raunchy “One Stringed Harp” offer an interesting counterbalance to what are often delicately beautiful arrangements and tunes; on “The Great Defector” a slightly off-kilter verse slides into a startlingly simple and lovely hook in the chorus, all the while flirting with a ska beat. (It also features the couplet “You’re the chocolate at the end of my cornetto/I love the way your underwire bra sets off that X-ray machine.”) “Blow Ins” is subtly lounge-flavored until the gentle vocals come in and change the whole mood; “Breastfed,” oddly enough, is written in 7/4. If you’re looking for more cowbell, then try the relatively rockish “A Better Band,” and if you’re looking for less melody, try the weirdly tuneless “How Your Heart Is Wired.” Blue Lights on the Runway is one of those rare albums that you can pretend to like for its alt-credibility while secretly just enjoying it for the hooks. ~ Rick Anderson, RoviPerformers: Bruce Brackman – Brass; Leroy Jones – Brass; Craig Klein – Brass; Matt Perrine – Brass; Ciara Breen – Vocals; Clare Finglass – Vocals; David Geraghty – Vocals; Paul Noonan – Vocals; Timothy O’Donovan – Vocals |

The Benoit/Freeman Project $12.73 The Benoit/Freeman project is a reunion of sorts, as both smooth jazz icons worked on 1986’s landmark Rippingtons debut Moonlighting and together wrote Benoit’s hit “Every Step of the Way.” Since then, Freeman’s career with that band and Benoit’s as a solo artist spearheaded the smooth jazz movement while expanding the rules on just what modern jazz is. The new project combines the radio-friendly pleasures inherent in their separate endeavors with an exciting expansion and interplay of fresh and innovative ideas. Though the focus is clearly on the interplay between guitar and piano, the two are surrounded by all-star backing talent like Nathan East, Abe Laboriel, John Robinson, and former Rippingtons members Steve Reid and Tony Morales. Much attention was directed to Kenny Loggins’ wonderful vocal performance of “When She Believed in Me,” but the Phil Perry sung version of “After the Love Is Gone” is superfluous; it’s beautiful but adds nothing to the original Earth, Wind & Fire arrangement. Instrumental highlights include “Mediterranean Nights” (a seven-minute meditation featuring symphonic elements and Freeman’s rich electric guitar work), the percussive “Swept Away,” moody “The End of Our Season,” and a remake of “Mirage,” one of Moonlighting’s most beautiful tunes. The two seem to have been too busy for a follow-up, but smooth jazz could definitely benefit from another tandem brainstorm like this. ~ Jonathan Widran, All Music GuidePerformers: Robert Becker – Viola; Larry Corbett – Cello; Stephen Erdody – Cello; Steve George – Vocals (Background); Jerry Hey – Flugelhorn, Trumpet; Suzie Katayama – Cello; Suzie Kattayama – Cello; Cynthia Morrow – Viola; James Ross – Viola; Daniel Smith – Cello; Anjani Thomas – Vocals (Background); |
